The First Division championship has finished and, for eigth time in a row, the champion was Carrasco Polo, who won the title winning every game. For five years this team has been unbeaten in Uruguay, though this season they had more difficulties in keeping that record. The improvements shown by both Montevideo Cricket, Old Boys and the second team of Carrasco Polo (Valentín Martínez) proved that the days when Carrasco Polo had no serious competition are coming to an end. As for the Second Division, the championship has shown a very nice surprise with the team of Trébol (Paysandú), who has won the championship with two games left to play, and has taken the title from Carrasco Polo, who has been winning the Second Division championship for eleven years.
