The female hockey team of Old Boys is the champion of the last edition of the National Hockey Championship, after an eleven year hegemony of the girls from the Cricket Club. There is no male team, for hockey is still a developing sport in Uruguay, being played mostly in schools that had boys playing rugby and girls playing hockey; thus, in Uruguay hockey was played, until a couple of years, only by girls; but in the last years, some clubs like Carrasco Polo and the Club Náutico have formed competitive male teams that play against the girls.
